TRYING TO KILL ME - Lyrics

Trying to kill me
I don’t know why you’re trying to kill me
But you think it’s fine to kill me
And I know you’re dying to kill me
Do you think it’s time to kill me
Well let me tell ya ‘bout you

You’re the kind of person that I never wanna see
You’re the kind of person that don’t give a shit about me
You’re the kind of person that’s probably going to hell
You’re the kind of person that only loves yourself
You wake up early ‘cause you really wanna look good
Use all the hot water just like your roommate knew you would
At breakfast time, that last bagel is mine
That’s what you say to start your selfish day and now you’re

Trying to kill me
I don’t know why you’re trying to kill me
But you think it’s fine to kill me
And I know you’re dying to kill me
Do you think it’s time to kill me
Well let me tell ya ‘bout you

You get behind the wheel and check your face and makeup
You’re not even that hot but you’re a good faker
You poof your hair, then back up without checkin’
Who might be behind you, you’re heading for a wreck and
It don’t matter it’s all about you
Anyone who don’t see that well they can go screw
You tell ‘em baby, you tell ‘em where to go
You think you’re hot you think you’re fly but you just don’t know and now you’re

Trying to kill me
I don’t know why you’re trying to kill me
But you think it’s fine to kill me
And I know you’re dying to kill me
Do you think it’s time to kill me
Well let me tell ya ‘bout you

You’re at the mall, you got your shopping bags
You strut along your perfume’s strong it almost makes me gag
And
You’re not movin’, you’re walkin’ a straight line
Everybody else better move you will not move this time
Someone hits ya, they rub against your shoulder
You stare ‘em down that evil eye couldn’t get much colder
Now
It’s your turn, you walk right into someone
You scream out loud say it’s their fault and cell them a dumb one
Now you’re

Trying to kill me
I don’t know why you’re trying to kill me
But you think it’s fine to kill me
And I know you’re dying to kill me
Do you think it’s time to kill me
Well let me tell ya ‘bout you

You’re in the parking lot ‘cause now it’s time to go
You check yourself again ‘cause you think that you’re the show
And
You hit the gas, you’re cruisin’ right along
No turn signals, no stop and signs, your right of way is wrong
You’re almost home but you need some gas
You get some dude to pump it when you shake your ass
He asks your number, you tell him no way
You say he couldn’t get ya even on his best day
Back at home you park the car and fling the door wide
I’m on my bike I can not stop I’m just about to die ‘cause you’re

Trying to kill me
I don’t know why you’re trying to kill me
But you think it’s fine to kill me
And I know you’re dying to kill me
Do you think it’s time to kill me
Well now I wanna kill you!

TRYING TO KIL ME- what’s this one about?

Because I’m legally blind I can’t get a license, so instead, I just ride my bike everywhere. Regardless of what you the driving public thinks of bikers on the road, I’ll tell you this one thing, we at least have the right not to get killed when trying to get where we’re going.
While biking, I always defer to cars because honestly, in a car vs. bike right, I’m quite aware that I’d lose. One thing drives me absolutely crazy though and that’s when people fling open their drivers side door without looking what may be coming up behind them.
That’s exactly what happened to me one morning in October of 2006. I was going down Washington St. in Brighton MA, which just so happens to be a pretty steep hill, when all of a sudden a car door flings open right in front of me. Normally when a car door opens up in front of you, what you want to do is look behind you to see if there is a car right up your ass. If there is, you slam on the breaks and pray that you stop in time. If there is no car behind you, you swerve out into the lame to avoid the door. The problem with this particular incident was that the door opened up so abruptly and gave me so little time to do anything that I had no choice but to swerve out into traffic.
LUCKILY, no car was behind me. If there had been, I would have just swerved right out in front of it and probably gotten mowed down by it. I had to take “maybe” getting mowed down over “definitely” slamming into the car door as I really had no time to brake.
As I’m whipping by the open door I look into the car to see this late twenty-something girl all made up with a couple of shopping bags in her right hand looking back at me and giving me one of those “what the fuck” gestures with her left hand……….as if I had just done something to her.
Firmly believing in the man’s motto of never beating up a girl, instead of taking out my frustration physically on this selfish bitch, I went home and wrote a song about it. I tried to imagine exactly what kind of a person does such a selfish thing as that. Who is so self-absorbed that they can’t take a fraction of a second to make sure they’re not going to kill anyone before they open their car door? I imagined a whole back-story about this woman leading up to the moment when she almost killed me.
By the way, if it were guy who had done this to me, I probably would have stopped my bike then either gone back and bashed in his driver’s side window or screamed at him until he peed his pants.
……….OK fine, I’ve done both of those things before. For some reason those incidents didn’t spark a song though.

VEGAS – lyrics

Headin’ out to Vegas baby! (x4)

21 days ago on the 21st day of the month I hopped a plane
Sick of the pain, the chains and I really needed was just a little change
‘Cause I wanted to escape here, wait dear
I got a plan for sand and an escape where
No one cares if you wanna have a good time
Drinkin’ ale and beer and all the free wine
I swear you know, for a buck you can even get a peep show
But that’s cheap a peep is just a glimpse
Of what can happen with a town full of pimps
Never mind the time you spent bettin’
Ain’t it funny how you feel yourself getting’
Into the spirit, I feel it, it’s calling’
Into the mood I feel myself fallin’.

Vegas, come on and take us for a ride
Vegas, you amaze us every time
Sin lives there
And no one seems to care

On the 21st floor room 21
I feel lucky and I wanna go get some
I hit the table where I’m able to count some
I’m havin’ fun win a ton on a good run
Gotta go though don’t’ wanna get caught
Onto the next place where I still play hot
21, 21, stick at 12
The dealer busts man I playin’ so damn well
Off to the craps table now
I’m on the dice and the girlies all say wow
He’s hot a winner and so rich
I think I spot myself tonights little bitch
Blonde hair, blue eyes and five foot four
I hope to God she ain't just a little whore
Here we go, you a ho, she said no
But after dinner she promised me a little blow

Vegas, come on and take us for a ride
Vegas, you amaze us every time
Sin lives there
And no one seems to care

On the 21st hour day 21
I’m feelin’ dirty, where my morals I got none
I been cheatin’ and lyin’ I feel sick
Every girl in this town’s done seen my dick
I won cash lost more and I’m broke
What is this the devils’ damn little joke
Sin, temptation all around
Dumb me I scooped it up by the pound
Self restraint probably would have been a little nice
But my complaint’s that I never even thought it twice
Indulged, went deep and way over
The depths of hell couldn’t even bring me any lower
O-Kay, I blew it, I knew it
It’s addicting I’m addicted so screw it
I cant’ blame the city you see
It’s my fault I can only blame me

Vegas, come on and take us for a ride
Vegas, you amaze us every time
Elvis lives there
And no one seems to care

VEGAS - what’s this one about?

Contrary to what my last 2 girlfriends thought, this one is not an autobiography of a trip I took to Vegas. Rather, this is an extrapolation of what any one of my tips to Vegas COULD HAVE been, if I had no moral compass or self restraint.
The very first time I even went to Vegas, I won over $2000. That is probably the worst thing that could ever happen to anyone during their first trip to the City of Sin. Why is that , you ask. Because if you win the first time out, then you ALWAYS think you’re going to win.
Besides the fact that I won two grand, I did it in the most dramatic fashion one could ever imagine. While playing at the Bellagio, I found myself down to my last five dollar chip. I went out there with $1700 and was down to my last $5. My friend and his father couldn’t bare to watch. They left me at the table saying they were going to go to the buffet.

I sat at the table for another 21 hours straight.

At the end of the 21st hour I had turned my five dollar chip into $3700. It was exhausting, but amazing.
Now let’s fast forward about a year later to my next trip to Vegas. Remembering what I had done with my five dollar chip, I figured I was pretty much invincible at the tables. I had a system. It was fool proof. Yeah right. Within four minutes I had lost about five hundred bucks. Fifteen more minutes go by and I’ down a grand………and pretty much done for the whole trip.
That’s when I finally got my ass off of the blackjack table seat and started to explore the city. It was during that first exploration of Vegas that I saw all the amazing nonsense one could partake in if they were so inclined. They’ve got little Spanish kids on the sidewalks handing out porno flyers to passers by, high class sexy hookers patrolling each and every casino, sex for sale on every corner and deep pockets looking to get even deeper on the riches that tourists bring to them in the vein and futile hope that it will be their lucky day.
If you play your cards wrong or happen to lose your head, you’ll find yourself in exactly the same position the narrator of this song does in verse 3……..”the depths of hell”.

EVIL INSIDE – Lyrics

I am evil inside ‘cause I hear these voices that just wont’ quit
I am evil inside I can hear them talkin’ can’t you hear it
//

They talk to me when I’m sleepin’
They talk to me when I wake up
They’re in the darkness creepin’
Why can’t we jut break up

I am evil inside ‘cause I hear these voices that tell me so
I am evil inside ‘cause the voices inside won’t let me go
//

They say what I good boy, good boy
Should do what ya should boy, should boy
They say what I want can be mine
They say it all the time-
Is mine that’s fine
But now it’s theirs again
I’ll get it back somehow I just don’t
Know when-
I’m here it’s clear what I must do
Are you confused well I am too
‘cause

I am evil inside ‘cause I hear these voices that just wont’ quit
I am evil inside I can hear them talkin’ can’t you hear it
//

Why won’t you get out of my head
Why won’t you get out of my head
Maybe if I stab at them then they, they will be dead

I am evil inside ‘cause I hear these voices that tell me so
I am evil inside ‘cause the voices inside won’t let me go
//

I am evil inside ‘cause I go these voices inside my brain
I am evil inside ‘cause I got these voices that cause me pain
I am evil inside but I’m tellin’ you I don’t want to me
I am evil inside so I’m asking you won’t you help me please

EVIL INSIDE – What’s this song about?

Unlike a lot of my other songs this one is not based on any particular story or anything like that. This one is a lot more metaphysical I guess. It’s a reflection of my belief that at one time or another we all end up struggling with something inside of us that we often don’t want to admit is there. For lack of a better word I refer to it as “evil” in this song. I don’t know if it has happened to you, but it’s happened to me a great many times when I know the right thing to do, I know the moral thing to do, but the little voice inside tells me to do something else. It tells me to do the easy thing or the more gratifying thing.
The “evil inside” can manifest itself in a situation where you might find yourself being tempted to cheat on someone you love. It might make it’s voice heard when you have the opportunity to swindle someone when you know you really shouldn’t.

The line:
“maybe if I stab at them then they, they will be dead”,
is meant to refer to someone who struggles with the evil inside so much that they literally go insane. It’s a bit of a departure from the rest of the song where a non-insane person is simply struggling with the voices that “cause pain”
I don’t believe that mankind is evil per say, but I do believe that we all have it within us and it’s our duty to each other to try and control it.

TELL ME – Lyrics

One says they want you there every day
The other says that they want you to go away
And then there’s me, I want you here now
I’ve asked ‘me both but they just can’t tell me how
You and me, we gotta get together quick
‘Cause if we don’t, I think I’m gonna lose it
Every day, every way all of this strife
Why won’t they say go away have a happy life
They hold on too tight
And say that I’m the one with bad sigh HA!

Tell me what I gotta do to get ya
Tell me that you’re gonna get away
Tell me what I gotta do to Prove it
Tell me what I’ve got to say
Tell me what I gotta do to get ya
Tell me that it’s gonna be today
Tell me what I gotta do to prove it
Just tell me that we’re gonna find a way

One says she loves what we’re doin’
The other thinks that we’re only screwing’
What the hell am I supposed to do
When all I want is just to be with you
Too much too much contradiction
The same page is what you’re both missin’
I’m in so deep
Without you I can hardly sleep
You’re all I want
So let’s go and get our lives on

(chorus repeat)

TELL ME – What’s this song about?

This song is actually part of a rather unfortunate and unintended trilogy of sons I wrote over the course of 3 years. This one was about the very beginning of a relationship I was having in 2004. The girl lived at home in Rhode Island under the thumb of her rather controlling father. I desperately wanted to be with her and despite many conversations with the parents on the matter, I could never get a straight answer on how we could make it happen.
Her Mom was more for the idea of us moving in together than her Dad was, the end result being a lot of confusion. All I wanted was for them to “tell me” what I had to do so that their daughter and I could be together, but no answer ever came. Eventually she just moved out of the house on her own and came to live with me in Boston. We were extremely happy for quite some time.

NEVER ENDING BATTLE – Lyrics

It’s a never ending battle with you
I got my hand sin my pocket don’t’ know what to do
It’s a never ending battle with you
I got one finger in the air and it’s for you

Everything I say everything I do
Never seems to be right for you
Every choice I make everything I choose
It just makes, makes me lose

It’s a never ending battle with you
I got my fists in my pockets but I cant’ move
It’s a never ending battle with you
I keep my fingers in a fist but the one for you

When I need a yes you give me no
When I want it fast you do it slow
We go out you say you wanna stay in
I don’t know why I cant’ win

It’s a never ending battle with you
I got my hand sin my pocket don’t’ know what to do
It’s a never ending battle with you
I got one finger in the air and it’s for you

I tell you, I gotta tell you
I don’t know when this al fell through
But now it has
And now at last
The peace is gone
We fight all day long

It’s a never ending battle with you
I got my fists in my pockets but I cant’ move
It’s a never ending battle with you
I keep my fingers in a fist but the one for you

I can’t believe just where we’re at
Its’ like I’m a dog and you’re a pussy cat
It’s like all I want’s a big juicy bone
And all you want’s to be left alone
I can’t believe can’t perceive could it be the case
I like the fight and I like the chase

It’s a never ending battle with you
I got my hand sin my pocket don’t’ know what to do
It’s a never ending battle with you
I got one finger in the air and it’s for you
It’s a never ending battle with you
I got my fists in my pockets but I cant’ move
It’s a never ending battle with you
I keep my fingers in a fist but the one for you

NEVER ENDING BATTLE – What’s this song about?

This song would be part 2 of the relationship trilogy. The song sounds angry if you just listen to the tone of it but it actually made me very sad at the time. I wrote it at a point in the relationship when I could tell that things were absolutely falling apart but I had no idea as to why.
I felt like we were constantly fighting over absolutely everything and I just couldn’t figure out a reason for it. The clenched fists in my pocket are not so much clenched in anger towards the girl, but rather, they’re clenched because I’m angry with myself for not being able to figure things out. The middle finger in the air is what I often wanted to do to the girl in order to vent my frustration, but I never did.
One line in this song is somewhat untrue to the rest of it:

“I can’t believe can’t perceive could it be the case
I like the fight and I like the chase”

I absolutely did not and do not “like the chase” of being in a tumultuous relationship. I put this line in the song for 2 reason though. One was that most of my relationships end up like this eventually, so while I don’t consciously like or enjoy it, maybe I subconsciously do. Maybe eventually I end up doing something to cause this every time. The other reason I put that line is was to somewhat soften the anger that would otherwise seem directed at the girl in this song….in case she ever heard it and figured out what it was about. I didn’t want to blame her for what was going on. I wanted to put it more on me.

POISON ARROW – Lyrics

I got this feeling that you’re dealing something I don’t’ want
I got this feeling that you're dealing something I don’t need
I got this feeling that you’re wielding power over me – poison arrow

It used to be my life in every way
It used to be my life every day
It used to be my heart ‘til you came and took it away
Don’t know what you did to me
Don’t’ know how you got through to me
Don’t’ know what made me follow
All I know’s now I’m hollow

It’s my prediction that you’re missing what you had on me
It’s my prediction you’re conviction couldn’t outlast mine
It’s my intention now to mention that you came armed with poison arrow

They say’s all fair in love and war
God knows that I have done a tour
Thing is I brought no weapons
But you, you, you, you brought seven
Don’t know why you were playin’
Couldn’t hear what you were sayin’
Don’t’ know why you want power
That’s why it all went sour

Why you would come this way and just not stay is beyond me
Why you would run away and just not stay I can not see
I feel so stupid thought you’re Cupid but you shot me with poison arrows
Poison arrows, poison arrows
You shot me through the heart

What’s a matter never had her ‘cause if I did I confide that she would never ever give this up
That’s a matter of a fact and now all I can do is live my life and live it up
That’s fine now
Run away now
Don’t come around here with your
Poison arrows
Poison arrows
Don’t’ come around here no more
No more
No more
No more

POISON ARROW – What’s this song about?

This is the final part of the relationship trilogy of songs and by far the saddest song for me. The relationship went to crap, the girl left me and I was absolutely devastated. I couldn’t figure out what the hell to do with myself now that I was all alone. I was mad at her for leaving and needed to do something to make myself feel better about the whole situation.
From start to finish this whole song is basically blaming the girl for seducing me, bringing me into her life then discarding me once she realized that she wasn’t going to get out of me what she wanted (which by eh way was marriage and kids). It made me feel a lot better to tell myself that these had always been her motives. It was a bit easier to take her leaving me if I convinced myself that she were just some kind of succubus come to steal my heart in hopes of latching onto me for he fairy tale life of the white picket fence and 2.8 kids.
I never really did think it was true though. I never honestly thought of her in that way. One line in this song though that is said extremely fast is one that will always confound me:

“what’s a matter never had her ‘cause if I did I confide that she would never ever give this up”

…meaning, if she were actually in love with me in the way that I was in love with her. If I actually did “have her”, how could she have ever walked away from me?

“That’s a matter of the fact and now all I can do is live my life and live it up”, is the very next line and said just as quickly in the song. That just means that the facts are, she’s gone, no matter what the reason and now I have to move on and make the best of the rest of my life.
It’s always easier to blame someone else though, isn’t it?

MUSIC SO GOOD IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL – Lyrics

They tell me where to go
They tell me what to see
They tell me what to think and who I should be
They tell me what to wear
They tell me where to go
I’m gonna mess ‘em up when I say no
It’s all over when I take command
I’m gonna take ‘em down
I’m gonna make my stand
They're used to sayin’ what’s what, who’s who
I’ll break the system when I say it ain’t true
‘Cause with this music that I got in my brain
it’s gonna make you insane
you’re gonna scream my name
to tell the truth, to hear it make’s 'em feeble
that’s why they say my music’s so good it should be illegal

music TV, the pop culture
the paparazzi also known as vulture
The magazines and the billboard ads
The chicks with tits and the dues with washboard abs
You eat it up ‘cause they tell you to
You eat it up ‘cause you don’t know what else to do
You got your tickets and your back stage pass
You cant’ wait to tell your friends they’ll kiss your ass
Me I got some music rockin’ ‘round in my brain
It’s gonna make you insane
You’re gonna scream my name
The parents say it’ll make their kids evil
That’s why they say my music’s so good it should be illegal

How many times have you turned on the TV
Thought hey maybe I’d like that to be me
How many times have you turned on the radio
Thought if I could sing I’d be you
You want to do it, you want to get there
You change your look and you cut your hair
You do exactly what the puppet people do
To be famous you’ll be a puppet too
And I got music rockin’ round in my brain
It’s gonna make you insane
You’re gonna scream my name
To be like me you’ve got to cause an upheaval
That’s why they say my music’s so good it should be illegal

MUSIS SO GOOD IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL – What’s this song about?

This song is actually about the exact opposite thing that you might think it is. The point of the song is NOT to say how good this music it. The song is saying that if music is any good at all, people start to mimic and idolize the people performing it. Little girls wanna look like Gwen. Guys wanna dress and live like their favorite rock star.
The more popular a band or their music is, the more people want to be like them; the more they forget who they actually are. Popular music leads to a dilution of individuality in America.
The song is actually sung in two parts. Half of it is sung to the fans that want to idolize and copy their favorite music stars and the other half (the chorus) is sung from the perspective of the idolized rock star :
“I got this music rockin’ ‘round in my brain. It’s gonna make you insane. You’re gonna scream my name.”
The point of the song is, enjoy music, but don’t try to become the people that bring it to you. Be yourself.

IN A FUNK – Lyrics

Steppin' out without a doubt I gotta get it goin’
‘Cause I’m feelin’ awful lonely and my loneliness is growin’
never did I ever think I’d ever walk alone
But here I am aware again that nothin’s writ in stone
So I’m lookin’ for a party when I oughta be at work
‘Cause they never said that it was wrong to skip and be a jerk
And I know it’s awful late and the state I'm in is drunk
But I never think to clear when I’m here in a funk
What’s a funk?
I’ll tell ya
Nothing’s going right and you’re feeling like a failure
You got dumped
You hump and go soft
You play yourself in checkers and you’re still the one that lost
Did I mention
Sexual tension
You’re cat’s in heat and she’d love to get attention
Your Mom’s in jail needs bail and she’s drunk
Man it’s obvious, that’s a funk

Man this funk is gonna take me over
Man this funk is gonna roll me hard
Man this funk is gonna take me lower
Man this funk has dealt me one bad card

A funk can often happen when you’re coming off a high
But a funk can also happen when your pet turtle dies
Another way to funk is luck that sucks
You dump a girl and don’t ya know she hits MegaBucks
Yeah her feel were awful stinky and you think she was a man
But she had the operation and she was a football fan
So you’re trying hard to cope but you’re doped out on junk
Man I tell ya, that’s a funk
When a funk is all around your bound to get screwed
Wanna go parachute? No way dude.
I’d reach for the chord then pull and it’s stuck
When you’re in this kind of funk you’re bound for bad luck
Like when you wanna wear your leather outside
Then the clouds open up you’re wearin’ rawhide
300 bucks for one date that stunk
Yeah…that’s a funk

Funk this funk get me outta this funk // // //

Man this funk is gonna take me over
Man this funk is gonna roll me hard
Man this funk is gonna take me lower
Man this funk has dealt me one bad card

When I’m in a funk man I like to stay at home
But the bill collectors call and the guy that did my load
They don’t’ care that I’m there in my home all alone
It’ s a dash to my cash when they call I just groan
Go ahead, and take it
You can have more, when I make it
I just washed my car a bird pooped on my trunk
Oh I’m in a funk
Never did I ever wanna live like this
In a shroud with a cloud on my head I wish
That the funk wouldn’t’ last it were past and were gone
Who decided that the funk should last so damn long
I could never understand the hand I was dealt
But I’ll come right out and tell ya I’ve always felt
Like a little bitch, like a little punk
When I’m in this funk

Man this funk is gonna take me over
Man this funk is gonna roll me hard
Man this funk is gonna take me lower
Man this funk has dealt me one bad card

A funk comes on as soon as you awake
Rarely does it happen in the middle of the day
‘Cause a funk is mean it doesn’t’ wanna miss
one hour or minute of its’ misery blitz
when you’re waiting for the bus n hour or two
when it finally comes around no room for you
when you’re working in a strip joint moppin’ up spunk
You’re in a funk

Man this funk is gonna take me over
Man this funk is gonna roll me hard
Man this funk is gonna take me lower
Man this funk has dealt me one bad card

Funk this funk get me outta this funk // // //

IN A FUNK – What’s this song about?

Well this song’s not too hard to figure out. Unlike a lot of my lyrics, this one’s actually pretty straightforward. I wrote it while I was living in New York City and working for Sirius Satellite Radio. I was pretty lonely in New York actually as all of my friends were still up in Boston and I hadn’t made a lot of new friends in NY. Work was going well, but that was about it. Everything else for about a 3 week period was going to crap. I was, as the song says, in a funk.
Better now though. Thanks for asking.

I LIVE AT NIGHT – Lyrics

I don’t know what to do
When the day light son you
I live in night time
I don’t know if I can see
When the day light son me
I live in night time
I don’t know where to go
When the light decides to show
I live in night time

When I am out in the day
All I feel is afraid
‘Cause everyone can see me
And I don’t know what to do
So I sleep right on through noon
And wake up just about eight

The sun sets, sun sets and it’s on
We’re gonna party ‘til the brink of dawn

The moon’s out and I’m up it’s time now to go hit the down, break it down, make the rounds, feel that sound
You don’t know what I mean
Until you live between
The dusk and the dawn

I gotta tell ya
You’re not a failure
If you don’t’ work nine to five

In the night time
It’s the right time
To go and do what you want, what you need
It’s a fine time
To go an unwind
To get it on don’t you see

I live at night
I like the dark
I feel all right
Dancing with the stars

I walk out my door
And step to the store
Where I pick up some shades
Then it’s off to the bar
Where the parties are
And of course all the babes
It’s a tragedy, a god damn travesty
It can’t be night all the day
The light’s off I light up and I’m out
It’s an aphrodisiac without a doubt

Funk me
Come on it’s funky
It’s time to funk me
‘Cause night’s so funky

I don’t know what to do
When the day light son you
I live in night time
I don’t know if I can see
When the day light son me
I live in night time
I don’t know where to go
When the light decides to show
I live in night time

It’s a tragedy, a god damn travesty, it cant’ be night all the day

If you’re fugly, or extra chubby
Please make your home in the day
But if you’re lovely, or very study
Then the night time’s o-kay

I LIVE AT NIGHT – What’s this song about

This is yet another song that means pretty much what it says. This one I wrote while living in NYC and working for Sirius. During that time, I used to get to work at about 8 AM and stay in my studio until about 10 PM.
I would go to the gym at 6 AM and go out to dinner near the studios about 10:30 PM. My only free time was between the hours of 10:30 PM and 6 AM. Those were also pretty much the only hours I even saw the outside. I was spending so much time in my studio those days that I very rarely even got out to see the daylight.
I very literally was living pretty much in the nighttime. I was actually staring to feel a little bit like a Vampire…hence the song The Phantom.

HEY HEY – Lyrics

Hey, hey, whatcha lookin’ at?
Whatcha lookin’ at you lookin’ at me?
Hey, hey, whatcha lookin’ at?
Whatcha lookin’ at you lookin’ at me?
Yeah I got rhythm and I got bass
I got you mother fuckers up into this place
I got rhythm and I got bass
I got you mother fuckers up in this place

I know whatcha been thinkin’ about all day long
I know that you want to get down to this here song
Work, work, work all day
At night it’s time to play
I know whatcha been thinkin’ about all day long
I know that you want to get down to this here song

Don’t you know what you’re workin’ for every day
Don’t you know where the money goes, goes away
Don’t you know why you’re nine to five all the time
Don’t you know why you do the work grind

I ain’t gonna spell it out now
I ain't gonna spell it out now
You work every day
So you can get down

Hey, hey, whatcha lookin’ at?
I know that you’re lookin’ at you lookin’ at me?
Hey, hey, whatcha lookin’ at?
I know that you’re lookin’ at you lookin’ at me?
Yeah I got rhythm and I got bass
I got you mother fuckers up into this place
I got rhythm and I got bass
I got you mother fuckers up in this place

I know what you want with your life boy
I know that you want to get a little sex toy
Work, work, work all day
At night its’ time to play
I know what you want with your life girl
I know that you want the whole world

Every day when I wake
I know I’ve got to make
All the coin all the cash
I don’t wanna finish last
Never mind what they say during the day
Night time’s my time, hey hey

I don’t’ want to be the bearer of bad news
But if you don’t’ do it yourself
You’ll lose

Hey, hey, whatcha lookin’ at?
Why ain’t ya lookin’ at yourself?
Hey, hey, whatcha lookin’ at?
Why ain’t ya lookin’ at yourself?
Yeah I got rhythm and I got bass
But you’re the mother fuckers up into this place
I got rhythm and I got bass
But you’re the mother fuckers that make this place

I know, I know what you’re thinking
I know that you wanna start drinkin’
Work, work, work all day
At night it’s time to play
I’m just here to watch, to watch you take a chance
I’m just here to watch you try to dance

Move around shake it down
Never go and sit down
On the town what you’ve found’s
The Penthouse J sound
Never mind what they say during the day
Night time’s my time, Hey Hey

Get real drunk put on your beer gogs
Check her out she looks real hot now
Tomorrow you might regret it
But tonight, go get it

HEY HEY – What’s this song about?

This is another one of my double edged/double meaning songs. While it may on the surface seem to be just a party song meant to get the crowd moving, that’s only one of it’s meanings.
The simple meaning is the party meaning of the song. You work all the time just so you can get to the end of the work week (or the work day) then go out an party. You’re sober at work but wanna drink when you go out.
“work, work, work all day. At night its’ time to play”
the rest of the song is actually rather sarcastic towards women that go out to clubs trolling for men and vice versa for men looking for girls. After having been in a 3 year relationship where I did not go to very many clubs at all, I found myself at the beginning of 2007 single and hitting the club scene again and rediscovering a rather disgusting culture of materialism and shallowness.
A lot of girls at clubs aren't just looking for guys who look good. They’re also looking for the guys wearing designer clothing, fancy watches, expensive jewelry and guys who are willing to buy them drinks all night.
Guys on the other hand are just looking for loose girls who look like they might put out. That whole scene is depicted in the lines:

“I know what you want with your life boy
I know that you want to get a little sex toy

I know what you want with your life girl
I know that you want the whole world”

Guys are looking for girls that will be their sex toy for the night while girls are looking for a guy that can give them anything and everything they want. We’re all apparently very shallow creatures.

THE DAY THE DEVIL TAUGHT ME – lyrics

I met an old man he said he was a neighbor
He said “young man, do me a favor
I’m the Devil and I need someone dead
I want you to put a bullet in his head
You’ll get a gift and I’ll give it right away
To read minds…yes way”

He said somebody sent him to Hell
And he’s sick of being in his cell
He said he’s out and he’s looking for payback
For the shit that happened way back
I said “Old man, his this a joke”
He looked at me and said, “Nope”
He had a fire burning deep in his eye
He wore pajamas but I didn’t’ ask why
He had a gun, wanted me to use it
And I thought that I was gonna lose it
He looked at me and said “son,
You want the gift you gotta get this done”
I said “fine I’m kinda bored anyway
Give me that gun. I’ll blow him away”

That’s the day that the devil taught me to read minds
//

At first I thought the old man was crazy
But the stories he told amazed me
He talked of hell and the ever after
When he talked of pain there always was laughter
He convinced me he was the Devil
And that he came from a way down level
He convinced me he had power
He convinced me for a God damn hour
Until I said “shut the fuck up
Let’s go and smoke this punk
I want the power to read your mind
I want that power so make it mine”
He said my wish would be granted
But the look he gave me was slanted
If that look came from anybody else
I would have told ‘em to go to Hell
But seeing that’s where he just came from
I decided to get the job done

That’s the day that the devil taught me to read minds
//

We found a dude he looked kind of odd
To tell the truth I half expected God
But the Devil said “that ain’t who did it
Come on Son, get with it”
So I did and I shot him in the head
Then the dude fell down dead
I got some brains splattered on my shirt
And the Devil said “I bet that hurt”
At least I thought that’s what he said
To tell the truth I was in his head
The Devil didn’t’ say a God damned thing
I was in his head. Amazing!
I went home and tried it on my Mommy
She said that she never really wanted me
So I went and tried it on my gramps
All he thought about were bowel cramps
My teacher thought that I was fucked up
My girlfriend thought that she’d been knocked up
By someone else, another dude
And she thought that he was cute too

That was the day that the Devil taught me to read minds
//

well God damn that God damned Devil
the gift he gave me was terrible
People think some messed up shit
It’s a good thing that they never say it
People ain’t nice they mostly fake it
And guys always wanna see girls naked
Everybody wants to kill their boss
And the dentist knows that you don’t floss
And then one day I heard this laugh
It was the Devil, he came back
He said “Young man how’s your life?”
I said “Bad. I used to have a wife
She always thought about the mailman
And how she liked to nail him
She thought about the pool boy
She was his person screw toy
I told the Devil that my very worst day
Was when I met him, now go away!

That was the day that the Devil taught me to read minds
//

THE DAY THE DEVIL TAUGHT ME – What’s this song about?

Believe it or not, this one is actually based on a true story. Just like I did with Trying To Kill Me, I took a real event in my life and extrapolated it into a whole story.
One day in late March 2007, I went down to the lobby level of my condo complex and found this old man pacing around by the front doors. He asked me a bunch of odd questions like, “where am I supposed to go?”, “How do I get there?”, “How did I get here?” and so forth.
He was obviously a bit lost, both psychically and mentally.
Out of nowhere, he starts telling me that he’s the Devil and he wants me to help him find the guy who put him in hell because he wants to kill him. If we do this, he told me he’ll teach me how to read minds. Not knowing exactly what was going on, I walked him around my building for a while knocking on doors asking if anyone recognized him. After about 50 “no”’s, I started walking around the neighborhood with him for a while trying to see if anyone in any of the nearby brownstone recognized him.
He kept on talking about how long he’d been in Hell, how much he hated the bastard that put him there and all the torture he’d had to endure over the past few years.
Finally, it hits me. I was kind of upset with myself for not figuring it out earlier, bur the place I live in is directly in front of a nursing home. I finally put two and two together and realize that the “hell” he’d been living in was in fact the nursing home. The bastard that put him in hell as it turns out was his son in law. He hated the little bastard for making him sell his house and move into the home. He did actually want me to kill his son in law, but no dice, because despite his many promises that he’d teach me how to read people’s minds, I didn’t exactly believe him.
I told him that I would get him two angels to bring him back home. H e agreed but told me that I wouldn’t get my “gift”. I ran into the nursing home, grabbed two nurses and brought them out to “the Devil”. They recognized him right away and took him back in.

DIRTY DREAMS – Lyrics

I don’t know what you’re dreamin’ about but it’s dirty, dirty, drity without a doubt
// // //

You give yourself away with that look
You never got what you ain’t took
The moves you make at night tell all
And baby I’m the one you call
Lover
You and I in the darkness baby
It’s all right don’t be frightened of me
Let yourself go, your fantasies will surface
And I know we’ll keep it just between us

You’re in my dreams
You take my being

Over
I’ll take you over
I’ll take control
And take you over

‘Cause I don’t know what you’re dreaming about but it’s dirty, dirty, dirty without a doubt
//

You’re in my head
You’re in my dreams
You’re in my bed
You’re all I need

I don’t know what You’re waiting for
Wake up now and knock on my door
I watch you dream and I watch you move
I watch you from my own bedroom
It’s that window I got to that thought in your soul
I know it hurts you a lot but your dreams I stole
Over
To take you over
I know your dreams
Will take you over

I’m waking’

Rise and be here with me what you need is to see

You’re taking

Thoughts from you that you knew could be true if they flew

You’re makin’

What I think’s what you feel
It ain’t take, it’s real

DIRTY DREAMS – What’s this song about?

This is actually the very first song I wrote for the Penthouse J project. I have no idea why I chose this particular subject matter. I was just listening to the bass line in the song and the phrase “I don’t’ know what you’re dreamin’ about” kept running through my head. I basically came up with the whole story off of that.
On the surface it sounds like a rather erotic song, when in actuality, it’s a pretty creepy song. The story line as I had it in my head is about a guy who lives next door to a woman whose bedroom he can see into from his own. Every night he watches her sleep and fantasizes about her. Eventually he begins to believe that he can almost astro-project himself into her dreams and by doing so, he will eventually make her want him.
“I don’t know what you’re waiting for. Wake up now and knock on my door”
He sends her little messages like that one every night believing that she will receive them in her dreams then come to him in real life.
The parts sung by the female vocalist in this song are the most misleading lines in the story…..if you believe that the woman in the story is actually saying them. In fact, all the words sung by the woman in this song are the words that the man (who is the true narrator of the story) wants to hear her say. They are all part of his fantasy.
“You’re in my head
You’re in my dreams
You’re in my bed
You’re all I need”
These are all things that he WANTS to hear her say and maybe even believes that she is dreaming, but in reality, she has never said these things.
Sorry to ruin the romantic/erotic theme that so many people tell me they get from this song, but that’s the real story.

MIND THE TIME – lyrics

Mind the time in your life you only live once
// // //

Time from the start of life
Winds down exactly that the speed of light
Don’t doddle full throttle full speed ahead
Life’s quick only sticks around ‘til you’re dead
Don’t wander, squander chances
Pick up the phone and ask where the dance is
Man it’s movin’
So am I so watch me start groovin’

You’re on my time baby now
You’re on my time now
The clock is winding baby down
The clocks’ winding down

Hear that sound? It’s the second hand tickin’
Along to the beat that we got kickin’
Watch it spin, our sins
Wind the watch then tick the tock and count the seconds in
It’s a constant of space
And place
But if I had a hold of time I’d surely slow the pace
Down

Time’s a wastin’ baby now
We’re all wasting time
Let’s get on, move along, can’t be wrong, what I wants just to flaunt but I got no time

It’s the measure of the daytime
What we want is to rock across the date line
Hate time, make time, late time
All I need is to really have a great time
It’s fine, share my air time
If I could I would live in every timeline
Unwind and let’s rock
Every one of those sixty seconds in a clock

Time: A duration or continuum which lacks special dimensions in which events succeed one another from past, to present to future. Time: the measure interval through which we live, die, party and get wild

Find it and grind it
You know I timed it
I got it in seconds
I’m that good

You’re on my time baby now
You’re on my time now
You’re a fine time baby now
Let’s have fine times now

Kick, kick, one two
Rock a clock that doesn’t stop on morning night or noon
Hit, hit, seven, eight
Spin the dial all the while never mind the date

You’re on my time baby now
You’re on my time now
You’re a fine time baby now
Let’s have fine times now

It’s a mystery to me
Why this time wont’ let me be
Ever young and ever strong
No, this time keeps marching on

MIND THE TIME- What’s this song about?

This is the second song I ever wrote for the Penthouse J project. It’s a reflection of my obsession with time, or rather, my desire to make as much of it as possible and my belief that I just don’t seem to have enough of it.
I’m one of those “get it done yesterday” kind of people who can’t stand waiting for anything. I’ve lived my life with the constant fear that before I get everything done that I want to, my time will be up. I’ve got so many things on my mind, ideas in my head, and projects that I want to complete that I fear there will never be enough time for all of them. Along with that, I also realize that with the very limited amount of time we are given, we better use at least some of it to have some fun; that would be the party aspect of the song.

Funny note about this tune: the very first lines “Mind the time in your life you only live once”, I think I subconsciously wrote that to the tune of “Grease is the word, is the word, is the word”. I only noticed it afterwards, but it sounds JUST like that.

I’M ON TOP – Lyrics

I’m on top don’t you know where I’ll be
I’m on top
Don’t you know where I’ll be I’m on top when the body’s rockin’
// //

On your backside, that’s right, so tight
Open up ‘cause it’s gonna be a hot night
Lay down around my bedside
Can you handle the man that’s inside?
Put it half in. laughin’, know why?
I control with the pole that’s inside
Don’t move I’ll lose my timing
Just moan and groan, stop whining

When I meet ya at the club little lady
It’s a fact that I’m jacked and you wanna have my baby
But one thing at a time
I’ve got you on my mind
On your back, on my bed
Listen to me what I said
It’s a dream when you scream and I love to cause that feeling
Understand I’m the man, you’ll be lookin’ at the ceiling

What I say’s just a fact I don’t tell lies
I like the top and I like the look in your eyes
I like a girl with a surely bedside-
Manner man I think I just told you why
Did I say I got laid in a boat yet?
Everybody felt the tidal wave onset
Splish splash, the shore was rockin’
That lay had the whole world talkin’
Then the time I did it on a train
We hopped the rail ‘cause my rhythm was insane
I keep goin’, I never do stop
I smack your bottom, ‘cause I’m always on top

I’m on top don’t you know where I’ll be
I’m on top
Don’t you know where I’ll be I’m on top when the body’s rockin’
//

Many ladies got it made ‘cause I’m the master
You never hear ‘em sayin’ “please baby, faster”
What’s that? You’re done, again?
For goodness sake I gotta bring another girl in
It’s your turn to learn my way
Get off your knees you little tease now obey
She lays back and screams “don’t stop!
Oh babe I love it when you do me from on top!”

I’m not for braggin’ when I tag another mistress
But this is a wish of bliss I insist
I gotta bag you when I tag ya from the top side
I don’t know what I’m doin’ when I’m screwing from the flip side
Please understand I’m like a man who dusts his crop
I can only really seed when I be up on top

My God I thought you knew this
To see you naked was atop my wish list
Take off your top, your panties, your stockings
My goodness gracious your body is rockin’
I wouldn’t lie but you’re about to
Get on your back ‘cause my attack will shock you
One, two, three, four, five times
I keep on bombin’ like a fighter in wartime
Just admit it, I hit it so right
You know you’d love it if I did this all night
I’m on top, just look down
I’m in the penthouse
This is my town

My town
Livin’ in the penthouse

I’m on top don’t you know where I’ll be
I’m on top
Don’t you know where I’ll be I’m on top when the body’s rockin’
//

I’M ON TOP – What’s this song about?

This song is so blatantly and ridiculously sexually explicit, it almost makes me laugh to hear it now almost six years after I wrote it. About half way through my first album, someone gave me the advice that I had to write a sex song. So I did…….and took it to the extreme.
If you’re not grossed out by the imagery of this song, I hope you can actually appreciate that I did some of my best writing and rhyming ever in it. Rhymes within rhymes that rhyme with other lines. Grammatically and lyrically it’s one of my best songs ever. The content is just a little weird. It’s actually pretty damn funny though if you approach it with the right mindset.

THE MATING DANCE – Lyrics

Hey! I’m in the thick now
It’s too late, think real quick now
Can’t stop, cant back away
Don’t get this chance every day
I’ve got a shot and I think I’ll take it
I think I’d like to see you naked
Keep those thoughts inside my brain
Emotions out, expose the pain
‘Cause that’s when it’s real
I never feel
Like I could like when I look at you

Gotta answer questions and dance her
Palms that are wet and feet in a stance are
Sideways it’s always awkward in this craze
Hart like a car when racing down highways
Thinkin’ unclear and steering’s gone
Love is the drug I’m doped out on

I’m not that insecure
But I’m fooled by your allure
My mind starts to scream and shout
I don’t need to feel this doubt
A cross look and now I’m flat
You’ve got me afraid that

Du
Du hast
Du hast mich
Du hast mish gefragt

I push through what’s inside
And swallow down that doubt I hide
Never mind what those feelings say
I’m gonna get you anyway
This night was mine but I’ll make it ours
Just walk with me beneath those stars

Gotta answer questions and dance her
Palms that are wet and feet in a stance are
Sideways it’s always awkward in this craze
Hart like a car when racing down highways
Thinkin’ unclear and steering’s gone
Love is the drug I’m doped out on

THE MATING DANCE – What’s this song about?

This is the story of every guy who is trying to meet a girl for the very first time. We’re nervous, slightly unsure, somewhat insecure and half the time we have no idea what we’re doing. O-kay, maybe I don’t speak for all men, but I can at least speak for me on this one.
The heart races, I start to sweat and one little cross look can scare me away like a timid bunny rabbit. Eventually in this song though, the guy sucks it up, approaches the girl and wouldn’t you know it, he actually gets her. Nothing better than a nice happy ending. All that worry for nothing.

SHAME - Lyrics

It’s a shame what you’re thinkin’ ‘bout
I know that you’re thinkin’ ‘bout murder
It’s a shame what you’re thinkin’ ‘bout
You’re thinkin’ ‘bout killing me
It’s a shame what you’re thinkin’ ‘bout
I know that you’re thinkin’ ‘bout murder
It’s a shame what you’re thinkin’ ‘bout
‘Cause I’m gonna have to kill you first

I never thought you’d come around here any more
I never thought I’d have to think about you
You never thought that I’d be lookin’ for
You with a gun, well that’s true

It’s a shame you didn’t think ahead
You didn’t think that I would see this
It’s a shame you didn’t plan it out
‘Cause then maybe you might not die
it’s a shame you didn’t think ahead
‘Cause then maybe you’d see me comin’
It’s a shame you didn’t’ plan it out
‘Cause then I might not have the drop

Did you think about having me in your sights?
Did you think about sweet revenge?
Did you think I would not put up a fight?
Did you think you would not end?

I’ll be the good guy and give you a second chance
Even though I know I should not
You give me a little song and dance
Until I kill you on the spot

Now I’m cleaning up your brains
And now I’m going insane
It’s a shame
A shame
You caused me a pain
It’s a god damn shame

Now I’m cleaning up your brains
And now I’m going insane
It’s a shame
A shame
You caused me a pain
It’s a god damn shame

SHAME- What is this song about?

Fear not. Unlike most of the PhJ songs, this one is not a true story. I kinda have no idea where this one came from actually. I wrote it one day all by myself (guitar, bass, drums, lyrics) in my home studio and the first line just kind of popped into my head as I was listening to the bass line. If this one had a point or moral though, I guess it would be: don’t try to screw me over, ‘cause I’ll just do it to you first. I’m not the type of person who will just sit back and let someone walk all over me……but then again, who is? I took it to the extreme of a murder just because it made for a more dramatic and interesting sounding song.

A SONG ABOUT MY ASS - lyrics

I wrote a song about my ass
I wrote a song about my ass
I wrote a song about my ass
So you can kiss it

I wrote a song about my ass
I wrote a song about my ass
I wrote a song about my ass
So you can kiss it

Last night I tried to sleep outside
Then the cops pulled up in their ride
They said “hey, move along”
Then I sung the first verse of this song
That’s right I said “kiss my ass”
I wanna sleep on this grass
My bed’s messed up and dirty
From the girl that I did at one thirty
It’s too late to do the laundry
So I fell asleep on the lawn see
The sops said that the neighbors complained
So I said “give me their names”
I got a message for them cats
It’s like this – kiss my ass

Kiss my ass
Kiss my ass

I knew a girl was stringin’ me a long
I figured out and put it in a song
She thought she was real smart
Liked to play with men’s hearts
Had about a dozen of us at a given time
Kept most of ‘em feelin’ fine
But not the smart ones like me
R-E-V-E-N-G-E
For her birthday I threw a party
Invited everyone she knew
And at this party, on the guest list were all the dudes she blew
She can’t explain this, cant’ think fast
Just picker up and kiss my ass

Kiss my ass
Kiss my ass

I know this dude who said my music blew
I said “dude, who the hell are you?”
A no talent selfish punk
Someone I’d like to stuff in my trunk
It’s real cozy and comfy
Nevermind if the ride is bumpy
‘Causse when we get where we’re goin’
I got somethin’ that I’ll be showin’
It’s silver and shiny
Oh look at that now you’re all whiney
But don’t worry I ain’t gonna pull it
You ain’t gonna have to eat this bullet
For you I got somethin’ much more crass
Hey bitch, kiss my ass

Kiss my ass
Kiss my ass

I wrote a song about my ass
I wrote a song about my ass
I wrote a song about my ass
So you can kiss it

A SONG ABOUT MY ASS - wHAT isTHIS SONG ABOUT?

This song consists of 3 pretty real situations. The first one is literal. The second one has seeds of truth with a fanciful ending and the final one is completely true insofar as I say that these are the things I’d like to do to the person who hates my music.
I honestly can’t believe that no one has ever written this song before. I mean really…How many times a day do you just wanna tell someone to kiss your ass? Plenty I’m sure. These are just 3 little instances out of about a million in my lie when I would have loved to tell someone to kiss it. Let this song run through your head the next time someone pisses you off.

WELCOME TO AMERICA, BITCH - lyrics

Welcome to America, Bitch. Now why don’t you learn English.
Welcome to America, Bitch. Now why don’t you speak English.
//

Buenos dias. Bon Sois.
Priviet & cac te la.

What did ya say? I just don’t know.
‘Cause you ain't speakin’ English bro.

I got a feelin’ that you’re talkin’ about me
and why the hell you always gotta shout, see.

You’re freakin’ loud in your foreign-ass tongue,
like people wanna hear you run your mouth, see,

That ain’t true.
I need a pocket dictionary to translate you.

What did you say? I know that word.
Maricon’s what I just heard.

Welcome to America, Bitch. Now why don’t you learn English.
Welcome to America, Bitch. Now why don’t you speak English.
//

I’m on the train listenin’ to some Iron Maiden
The dude next to me’s loudly conversatin’
He’s gotta scream. He’s gotta be heard.
Ibby jibby dibby hibby tibby top dird.
What the hell did you just say?
Speak English and do it today.

Not tomorrow not the day after.
It friggin’ kills me when I hear your laughter.

Ha ha ha. You laughin’ at me?
You better not be, you better not be!

‘Cause if you are, you’re gonna learn some grammar
and I’m gonna teach it with a hammer.

Welcome to America, Bitch. Now why don’t you learn English.
Welcome to America, Bitch. Now why don’t you speak English.
//

(BRIDGE)

I’m on the street I wanna get a snack
I’m havin’ me a Big Mac attack

The dude with the paper hat on says,
“Lo siento. No hablo ingles”

Are you shittin’ me? Is this a joke?
I want a burger and don’t forget my coke.

The dudes’ starin’ at me. What do I do?
Point at the picture say “number two”.

“Ah dos” tu comprendas.
Get it now or I’ll kick ya in the ass.

Don’t forget to say thank you in English.
Do it now or I’ll call INS..

Welcome to America, Bitch. Now why don’t you learn English.
Welcome to America, Bitch. Now why don’t you speak English.
//

I remember one time I went to vote.
The lady there was like “sorry, nope.”

The English ballots they were all gone.
They had Arab ones made in Taiwan.

They had a German one and some African
They had a Russian one and some French Canadian.

She said she could get one made in Eskimo
Did I speak that? Bitch no!

Nevermind I don’t count anyway.
I’m just an English speakin’ Penthouse J

You understand me, what I said?
Thank God that means’ English ain’t dead.

Welcome to America, Bitch. Now why don’t you learn English.
Welcome to America, Bitch. Now why don’t you speak English.
//

WELCOME TO AMERICA, BITCH - wHAT IS THIS SONG ABOUT?

I remember when I was growing up everybody spoke English. Not to say that living in a melting pot culture is a bad thing. Quite to the contrary, it’s one of the things that makes America great. It would be nice if we could all speak the same language though. I hate feeling like a foreigner in the country I was born in.

DON'T YOU NEVERMIND - lyrics

Somebody tried to tell me that I did just not count no more,
No more.
Somebody tried to sell me that I was rotten at the core,
The core.
I don’t know what they’re thinkin’.
I’ve fought this war before,
All of my life.
All of my life.
Everybody listen up and don’t you nevermind.
Somebody came walkin’,
Came walkin’ right on past m,.
Past me
This body didn’t notice that all I wanted was to be seen,
To be seen.
I couldn’t say what they’re thinkin’, but I’ve seen this all before.
All of my life.
All of my life.
Everybody listen up and don’t you nevermind.

Nobody every asked me if I am happy or just bored,
Just bored.
Nobody ever notices anybody but themselves no more,
No more.
Everybody wake the hell up.
This world ain’t just for you.
I’ve known, I’ve known, I’ve known,
I’ve known exactly what you’re thinkin’
I’ve known, I’ve known, I’ve known,
I’ve known exactly what you’re thinkin’
I’ve known, I’ve known, I’ve known,
I’ve known exactly what you’re thinkin’

All of my life.
All of my life.
Everybody listen up and don’t you nevermind.
Why I am here I just cannot say.
Why I am here I just cannot say
Yeah!
Don’t’ you nevermind me.
Don’t’ you nevermind me!
Everybody listen up and don’t you nevermind

Everybody that’s walkin’,
That’s walkin’ right on past me;
Don’t you nevermind
Don’t you nevermind
Don’t’ you nevermind me!
Mind me
Mind me
Mind me…yeah.

DON'T YOU NEVERMIND - What's this one about?

Basically, this is a song about just wanting to be noticed. Maybe not even NOTICED (in all caps) but just not ignored. Sometimes it would be nice to walk down the street and just feel like you’re there. Everyone is just so amazingly wrapped up in themselves these days that it’s easy to start feeling like you don’t exist, like you don’t matter. I guess technically the song would be called “Don’t you Nevermind Me”, but that was a little too obvious.

YOU TAKE MY SOUL - Lyrics

You take my heart away
You take my soul too
You consume thoughts each and every day
You don’t know what you, don’t know what you do.
You take my mind away.
You take my free will too.
I just want you to say.
You don’t what I’d, don’t know what I’d do.

I can’t seem to get through to you now.
I can’t seem to make you understand.
I got myself so wrapped up in you.
All I want is to be your man.

I don’t know how to get through every day now.
I don’t know how to make you mine.
I don’t know what the right words are to say now.
I don’t know when it’s gonna be our time.
It’s just so plain to see.
You need to cum with me.
What are we waiting for now.
I’m gonna show you, show you how.

You take my mind.
You take my soul.

YOU TAKE MY SOUL - What's this one about?

This is a song about finding perfection and just giving yourself over to it wholly and completely. It’s a song about finding perfection and not quite being able to have it. It’s a song of longing.

THE BUG - lyrics

Walk around downtown.
Make a sound.
What you found’s bound for the ground.
Gotta move your feet.
Nice seat.
Whatcha eat? A meat treat?
I repeat.
I got the heat in my seat.
I can’t eat beats; neat treats.
In 3 weeks, my butt cheeks on your sheets.
Gotta play it cool.
School fools ‘til they drool.
My pool rules.
You’s never come?
I bet you’d like some.
I got my face maced.
Race to outer space is a waste.
Taste Tasty Cakes.
Shakes makes weight breaks.
Advertise.
Guys lies.
Sympathize.
Sky high.
Try my thigh highs then wave bye bye.
Complicated.
Masturbated.
Never made it.
Underrated.
Hesitated? That’s what made it frustrated. Don’t debate it.
Ever seen a misdemeanor or my wiener in between her?
The arena could be meaner.
Why’d you give me that subpoena?
Wanna know?
I gotta go.
The show goes too slow.
Bo knows baseball.
Good call.

That’s why they call me the bug.
Because I’m so fly.
That’s why they call me the bug.
Because I’m so fly.

I buzz around town with this dope sound that I found.
Are you down, clown?
I hope so.

That’s why they call me the bug.
Because I’m so fly.

I did a crime, mine rhymed with the fine line.
Got a sign at the time.
Got my fine wine
But the price wasn’t nice. The dice came up twice craps,
Paps.
You wouldn’t think so.
Never know.
Learn and grow
My bro grows yayo
Hey yo, mayo, is light and creamy.
Steamy.
Free me, from I Love Genie.
She be teeny weenie, super creamy and so dreamy.
Internet- I win the bet but nothing yet; no red Corvette. What do I get? A jet? No, debt. That’s all I get for tet a tet.
Never seen a perfect dream. What do I mean to see my scream?
Team mean.
Seein’ green.
I wish I could.
Never ending. Never bending. Stop pretending. I’ll be sending out for mending. Happy ending; all depending…
On you.
True.
And I know.
Got to show it, tow it and I’ll know it if I blow it.
Go with the flow. It’s the poet, you know it’s the fast cash .
Last to the gas mask asks off that task.

That’s why they call me the bug.
Because I’m so fly.
That’s why they call me the bug.
Because I’m so fly.
That’s why…..bug….so fly.
That’s why they call me the bug.
Because I’m so fly.

THE BUG - What's this one about?

Well primarily, this song was designed just to sound very cool aesthetically and lyrically but believe it or not, I did manage to weave it quite a bit of meaningful lyrics into this one. For instance,
“Internet- I win the bet but nothing yet; no red Corvette. What do I get? A jet? No, debt. That’s all I get for tet a tet.”
Refers to a situation a friend of mine has fond himself in with internet gambling. (yes…it’s really a friend and not me. I don’t gamble)
He wins the bet, so what does he get? A Red Corvette. No, he gets nothing. In fact, he never gets anything. He just keeps betting until all his money is gone and then he has to recharge the account again. Lame.

“Never ending. Never bending. Stop pretending. I’ll be sending out for mending. Happy ending; all depending…
On you.
True.”, is a more personal set of lyrics for me. If things don’t work out with what I have going on right now, I seriously think I’ll have to send out for some mending……..see a shrink.

“Never made it?
Underrated?
Hesitated? That’s what made it frustrated. Don’t debate it.” Is supposed to be a positive message to anyone who has ever felt underestimated. Anyone who feels like they can do more with themselves. Don’t’ hesitate to do what you want to do. just do it.

I could literally go on for about 3 more pages explaining all these lyrics, but trust me, there’s a lot of meaning in this song.

HELL BORN- lyrics

I came to Earth on a red flame
I came to Earth on a smoke cloud
I came to Earth to play its games.
I came to Earth to see what’s found.
It’s not the same as they said it would be.
It’s not the same as they said it could be.

I came from a place where torture’s the rule of the day.
I came from a place where nobody gets away.
I came from a place where sinners are wrapped in sin.
I came from a place deep within.

Hell born.
I’m hell born.
Hell born.
I’m hell born.

This is the place they say you wanna go now.
This is the place they rave about below now.
This is the place. It’s the name.
But it just ain’t the same.

Hell now….is here!

I’m lookin ‘round what I can see and I’m amazed about it
Of all the places I could be, this ain’t the best. I doubt it.
Corruptions, eruptions and sin.
What the hell’d I get myself in?

Hell now……..is here!

I came from a place where torture’s the rule of the day.
I’m now in a place where it is about the same.
I came from a place where sinners are wrapped in sin.
I’m now in a place where sinners are all the men.

Hell born.
I’m hell born.
Hell born.
I’m hell born.

I came from hell and I wanna go
I came from hell and I wanna go
I came from hell and I wanna go
I came from hell and I wanna go…
Back.
Back now.

HELL BORN - What's this one about?

Hell Born is sung from the perspective of a creature that was born in hell. He spent his whole life dreaming of making it up to Earth. He would sit around and talk with all the other hell born creatures about how good they all must have it topside. They envied those that dwelled on Earth…….until………he finally made it up there. The pace he came from hell, was awful. It was a dreadful place. Only problem is, so many of the problems that they had down in hell, they have up on Earth too. Sinner, liars, corruption and sin. It’s all on Earth. By the end of the song the Hell Born creature is sick of Earth. He’s disgusted by it and he just wants to go back to hell. At least he knows what to expect down there. There’s no pretense about how “wonderful” it might be.

ROCK RIGHT NOW- lyrics

I’m gonna rock right now. Rock right now. Show you how. Get down.
I’m gonna rock right now. Rock right now. Show you how get down.
(repeat once)

I’m gonna rock this mic
Just like
I’m an animal. Here’s my scandal
Steppin’ up to the stage you’ll see.
There ain’t no mother fucker just like me.
Taste it. Waste it. You gotta just face it.
I took my shot and you know I just aced it.
Gotta put a beat down. Seat down.
Pull the mic out the rock like King Arthur did with what he found.
Strike, strike, strike, hard!
I swing a beat like a batter hit it out the yard.
Over the river through the woods, where’d your Granny go?
I ate her up I’m the wolf don’t you know.
Wolf. Wolf. (growl)

I’m gonna rock right now. Rock right now. Show you how. Get down.
I’m gonna rock right now. Rock right now. Show you how get down.
(repeat once)

Back once again with a pen and a notepad.
Like a Samurai, cuttin’ you so bad.
Sliced to the core like an apple you’re rotten.
You deserve everything that you’ve gotten.
Checkin’ a list. Check it again. What did Santa see?
You’re getting’ coal ‘cause you been so naughty.
Lemmie tell ya little something how we do it here
We put the lime in the coconut and wash it down with beer.
Gimmie the step one, two. Gimmie the step two, three.
Knock knock, who’s there? It’s Me!

And I’m gonna rock right now. Rock right now.
Hear me?
I’m gonna rock right now. Rock right now.
Yeah!

Light up the place like a flame in the night
‘Cause I breathe hot fire like a dragon so bright.
You’re a moth to my flame, my fame is power
Never see me duck into the corner and cower.
Chicken, chicken, chicken, soup
Tell me once again who the fuck are you?
Nevermind, I don’t even want to know
‘Cause it's about that time to go.

(scratch out)

ROCK RIGHT NOW- What's this one about?

Rock Right Now is actually just a big, fun song with some very cool lyrics. It features everything from King Arthur references to Little Red Riding Hood references. “Chicken, Chicken, Chicken…soup. Tell me once again, who the fuck are you” is THE MOST quoted song lyrics I’ve ever written. Every time someone hears this song, I get that lyric sent to me in an e-mail or text. Multiple rhyming fun lyrics. One of my favorite songs I’ve ever written.
